From producing documentaries for the BBC to contributing to magazines and journals, my journey as a researcher, writer, and editor, (and mother!) has led me to specialize in creating non-fiction content for primary school-aged minds.
I have created the “What….Do?” book series, which navigates the wonders of future careers, unraveling complex topics through relatable contexts.
My third book, which recently launched, “What Football Job Can You Do?,” is designed to help children explore diverse career paths within the football industry, extending beyond the role of a player. I have recently spoken at Club Author Days at Fulham FC and QPR, the events were sponsored by the National Literacy Trust and the Premier League Charitable Fund.
This release follows the success of “What Do Vets Do?” and “What Do Construction Workers Do?,” the latter proudly sponsored by Wates , one of the UK’s largest construction firms. Wates have generously distributed approximately 11,000 copies, so far, to various primary schools across the UK and children’s book charities.
My books bridge the gap between education and entertainment. My aim is to translate difficult subjects into digestible narratives, so young readers are both informed and engaged, while fostering understanding and empathy of the subject.
In addition to my literary endeavors, I also undertake commission work across various sectors. Whether you’re interested in discussing ideas for a career-focused books, or bespoke content for young readers. Please contact me and let’s inspire and inform the next generation together!
I have written and I am developing further, a series of books, What……Do?, about different careers for younger readers (age 6+)
My books invite children to embark on exciting journeys through various careers and professions. From the adrenaline-filled world of football, the complex world of construction, to the caring realm of veterinary medicine, my books not only give children an insight into what these people do, but inform little minds about the endless possibilities of the roles that await them.
There are many other jobs Emma’s children want to know about, so keep popping back here for news about the next in the series about what people do!
